Biography:

Arjun Rampal was born in Delhi to a Punjabi Family. His mother was a teacher in the school at the time. Arjun went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Economics stream from the highly regarded Hindu College in Delhi. Actress Kim Sharma is his cousin.

He did his first film in 2001 with Ashok Mehta’s Moksha opposite Manisha Koirala.  But Moksha got released after his second film Pyar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat.

Since his debut film he has steadily progressed in his career. In 2002 he did Aankhen which did well at the box office. But his films like Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002), Yakeen (2005) and Ek Ajnabee (2005), did not succeed commercially.

In 2006 he made an extended appearance in the multi-starrer Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and played a supporting role in Don - The Chase Begins Again, a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don. Like the original version even this film turned out to be a huge hit.

In 2007 he did a negative role in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Bollywood. And his biggest hit till date. He also won several awards for the film.

In 2008 he did Rock On!! with Farhan Akhtar for which he won the National Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor. This film was indeed the turning point in his career.

2010 was the best year for him. He did Sajid Khan’s Housefull and Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti both did a massive business at the box office.

Now he is all set with Ra.One with Shah Rukh Khan which is due for release.

Personal Life:

Arjun Rampal married former Miss India and supermodel Mehr Jesia and they have two daughters, Mahikaa, born on 17 January 2002 and Myra, born June 2005.

Arjun prefers going casual. If it's a slightly more formal event then he wears a jacket, over a jeans and T-shirt.
